LoveBrum started with a simple idea: ‘Make Birmingham even better’. By engaging with local people and businesses, and shining a light on hidden projects and charities doing good in the city, LoveBrum is building a better Birmingham. We were tasked with coming up with every element of the LoveBrum brand from logo, colour palette, messaging and tone of voice.
Being our home city, we could bring our own knowledge and experience of what makes Birmingham great to the table. But that wasn’t enough, we needed to understand what the charity meant to the people involved and the people it was helping. Discovering the heart of the charity was the focus of the research stage.
We created an illustration led brand to create something that truly felt unique with the versatility to work across multiple audiences and media platforms. It allowed us to feature Birmingham landmarks right into the visuals, and create engaging communications that local people would instantly relate to.
Everything from logo use, to brand values, to tone of voice was carefully articulated and packaged into a brand book so that everyone both internally and externally can understand and get onboard with the LoveBrum brand. As well as the brand book, we produced a range of other communications and collateral including a website. Not only was working with the charity a great creative project, it was our way of giving something back to our local community too. We’re immensely proud that this brand has become the go-to charity for charitable initiatives in Birmingham.
